In 2022, Salesforce unveiled software that processes and organize customer data in "real-time." Salesforce promoted that its CDP can process large amounts of customer data in "real-time," meaning in "milliseconds," the lawsuit says. One benefit to real-time data processing that Salesforce advertises, for example, is when a hospital may need the most up-to-date information on a patient regarding urgent healthcare needs. Salesforce unveiled its CDP software, Genie, to the public on September 20, 2022. According to the court documents, Salesforce said it was the "biggest announcement" it had made since the founders started the company.

July 27 (Reuters) - Electric aviation and regional air travel company Surf Air Mobility (SRFM.N) shares slumped 75% below their reference price in a direct listing on Thursday. Unlike an initial public offering, in a direct listing shares are not sold in advance. The stock price at debut is determined by orders coming into the stock exchange. Surf Air Mobility had earlier this month pushed its listing date from July 11 to the week of July 24. The company had last year confidentially filed for a U.S. direct listing after terminating its $1.42 billion merger with a blank-check firm.

June 22 (Reuters) - Electric aviation and regional air travel company Surf Air Mobility said on Thursday it expects the company's shares to start trading on July 11, setting the stage for the first major direct listing in the United States in months. Surf Air's shares are expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker "SRFM", it said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Contrary to an initial public offering, shares are not sold in advance in a direct listing. The stock price at debut is determined by orders coming into the stock exchange. Advocates of direct listing argue it is a better way to price new stock rather than an IPO.

June 1 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday gave Salesforce Inc's (CRM.N) Slack Technologies another chance to avoid a lawsuit over the workplace communications software company's 2019 direct listing. A direct listing is an alternative to a traditional initial public offering. The registration statement was filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). That differs from an IPO, under which newly registered shares are offered to the public while existing shareholders are typically barred from selling their unregistered shares for months. Slack's direct listing released 118 million shares that were registered under its registration statement and 165 million pre-existing shares that were exempt from registration.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has made revisions to the company's annual strategic plan, including return-to-office mandates and policies that would have implemented stack ranking, according to an internal Slack message viewed by Insider. "He's still pushing performance culture," a Salesforce employee who read the revised draft told Insider. It currently requires three days a week in the office for non-remote employees and four days a week for employees in "non-remote" and "customer-facing" roles. Revenue for fiscal 2022 grew 25%, to $26.5 billion, according to the company's annual report. Or, as an employee previously posted in a Slack channel, "Can execs commit to never referring to Salesforce employees as 'family' again?

Salesforce shares tumble after surprise exit of co-CEO Taylor

[1/2] Bret Taylor, Co-CEO of Salesforce, speaks at the Viva Technology conference dedicated to innovation and startups at Porte de Versailles exhibition center in Paris, France June 15, 2022. Jefferies analysts said the surprise exit indicated that the "co-CEO model is not working with two departures in three years." Benioff tapped Taylor as co-CEO in 2021, to replace Oracle (ORCL.N) executive Keith Block who stepped down from the role just before the pandemic began. He was previously chief operating officer and chief product officer of the company. "We view this leadership change as a significant blow given his leadership role on product," Needham analysts said in a note.

The purchase of Figma, whose tools are used by designers and developers, is Adobe’s largest-ever acquisition and extends its reach into new areas. The rising popularity of social networks helped fuel interest in an earlier wave of collaboration technology companies, including Jive Software and workplace chat company Yammer, later acquired by Microsoft Corp. in 2012 for $1.2 billion. Startups that employ concepts of collaboration, including digital work-space company Notion, document company Coda and app platform Airtable, took off among software, design and product teams. Adobe is best-known by consumers for software programs—including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat—used for graphic design, video editing and more. The fact that Adobe was willing to pay so much for Figma reflects that belief that its software was fundamentally different, according to Mr. Saper.
